Types of mobile phone users

As it is commonly said “we are in the world of technology”. One of the mostly used product of technology in Nigeria and all over the world is mobile phones. Having a mobile phone is now seen as one of the essentials one must have. Have you once travel without your phone or have your phone switched off for about two to three days, how do you felt with it? Having 5people without a mobile phone out of 20people picked at random can be said to be rare now.

Almost everyone have a mobile phone but the habit and ways people use their mobile phone in Nigeria is different from each other. The various types of phone users are listed below.

1.  Early Adopters
These ones always want to use the latest phone models and applications. They are always the first to know about new products. Some only have the passion for new gadgets while others do it to show off. People usually look to them for recommendations of a new product.

2.  The Basic-Users
These ones only use their phones for the basic purpose “call and SMS”. Most of them prefer old phones because they have no pleasure in the features of most new  phones.

3. Too-busy
This group of phone users are ones you would have asked them several times “why do you own a phone?” They don’t have pleasure making use of their phone. They are those you feel lucky whenever you call them. If you text, expect your reply the next day.

4. The Shopaholics:
They spend hours browsing through online stores (jumia, konga, olx etc). Everything the need is at their finger tips clothing, car, gadgets accessories, you just name it. Even if they are in need of a job, they don’t have to worry everything is just a click.

5. The Gamers:
This ones ehn! The only thing they enjoy is playing mobile games. Being alone is not a problem for them if a power bank or charger is with them.

6. The Photo Mania
The main feature these ones love in a mobile phone is its camera. They love taking pictures and they can do that everywhere and anywhere, while eating, in the office even in the toilet, just name it . The most things they upload on social media is selfies.

7. Social Media Addicts
These spends hours browsing through social medias (facebook, twitter, snapchat, instagram, whatsapp) and posting updates. They do that no matter where they are or what they are doing, on the road, in the toilet, at work, they even find it hard to find time to sleep at night because they never want to stop the fun.

8.  The Up-to-dates
They are different from social media addicts. This ones browse through social medias and other platforms to get the current informatics, news and events about the world around them. They love to share this in formation with other people.

9. The leisure users
They have worked and tired during the day, so they use their phone to refresh themselves anytime they feel like, they can play game text message, visit social medias. They use there phone as a medium through which they connect with friends and other people they care about.

10. The Music/Movie Mania
They have fun in playing music and watching video with their phones. They are easily recognized because they always have an earpiece/headset with them.

What class do you fall to among all these?
Is yours different?
You can also add yours as a comment.

Nigerian Senate amends Universal Education Act, raise funding for education

Sen. Aliyu Wamakko (APC -Sokoto North) has said that the Senate has amended the Universal Education Act to ease pressure on states in accessing funds for infrastructure development in schools.

Wamakko who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education, made the disclosure in a statement issued by his media aide, Bashir Mani on Friday in Sokoto.

He said that the Compulsory, Free, Universal Education Act 2004 was amended on Thursday, and now has provision which made primary and secondary education free and compulsory in the country.

“It seeks to increase the block grant contribution of the Federal Government to education, just as it seeks to reduce the contribution of the state governments.

”This is aimed at reducing the current situation where most states are unable to access the grant owing to their inability to contribute the 50 per cent of the total cost of projects as its commitment in its execution.

”The two per cent budgetary allocation to Universal Basic Education Commission by the Central Government is now increased to three per cent.

”The bill provides free and compulsory education for all Nigerian children from primary up to secondary schools,” he said. (NAN)
